Getting started

Updated May 29, 2026

Welcome! We're glad you're here. Let's get you set up and connected to your future fans.

Step 1: Create your account

Start by signing up for a personal Story Inc. account. This gives you access to the platform — where you can explore markets, follow projects, and participate as a fan.

Step 2: Create your filmmaker profile

Once your account is set up, create your Filmmaker profile. This unlocks a dashboard to manage projects and markets all in one place. You can do this from the dropdown or in Account Settings.

This profile is separate from your regular user account: you can still participate as a fan and make predictions on other projects, but your Filmmaker Profile is where you submit and manage your own work, engage with fans, and access filmmaker-specific tools.

Step 3: Submit your project

Your project represents the film or series you want to share with audiences — it's the creative home base for all your Market Questions, clips, and updates.

You'll complete a short submission that helps us understand your vision and how you want to engage fans. Include a brief story summary, key team members, your current stage of development, your goals—whether that's creative feedback, early fandom, or funding opportunities.

You can also add video clips, concept art, stills, or other visuals to bring your story to life, along with any rewards or perks you'd like to offer for participation. Don't worry — it's a quick, guided process designed to make your film look its best. Your submission does two things:

  • It allows our team to review your project to ensure it aligns with Story Inc.'s mission — and maintains the content quality featured on the platform.
  • It creates your dedicated project page, where fans can learn about your film, follow its progress, and engage through your Market Questions.

You'll be notified once your project is approved to go live.

Step 4: Create and launch Market Questions

Once your project is approved, you can start creating Market Questions — prediction-based prompts that let fans weigh in on real aspects of your film, from casting choices to release milestones.

Each Market Question goes through a short review to make sure it's clear, engaging, and set up for maximum success when connecting with fans.

Once approved, your Market Question appears both on your project page and the main Market page, where all fans can explore active predictions across the platform. This gives your project valuable exposure — reaching new audiences beyond your existing followers. Market Questions help you:

  • Gather real-time audience insights
  • Build early fandom and momentum
  • Validate creative or business decisions

Every fan prediction adds value to your project — turning curiosity into measurable audience data. By the time your film reaches investors or studios, it already has market validation and a built-in audience — giving you a powerful advantage.

Step 5: Qualify for future support

As Story Inc. grows beyond beta, we plan to build a deeper ecosystem designed to support filmmakers — including access to funding opportunities, mentorship, and industry connections.

Projects and people that engage with Story Inc. at this stage will have a first-look advantage. More details will be shared as the platform expands.
