The result is Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America — a seven-episode HBO sketch comedy series from Larry David and Jeff Schaffer (Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm), produced by the Obamas' Higher Ground. Each episode features four sketches placing Larry in pivotal moments of American history, with a rotating cast that includes Bill Hader and Kathryn Hahn as the Lincolns, Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes as the Wright brothers, Larry and Jerry Seinfeld as Lewis and Clark, plus Curb alums Jeff Garlin, J.B. Smoove, and Susie Essman (as Susan B. Anthony), Vince Vaughn, and Barack Obama himself. Like Curb, most dialogue is improvised. Premieres Friday, June 26, 2026 at 9 PM ET on HBO and HBO Max.
