Set in the 1990s, high school graduates and lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa are on the verge of going their separate ways when a karaoke-and-junk-food farewell night leads them through a mysterious portal to the fantastical island of Nakali. There they discover a heartbreaking bargain: the only escape from the island requires giving up every memory of their friendship. Racing against time and loss, the two friends must find another way home before they forget each other forever. The film weaves Philippine mythology and folklore into an emotionally resonant story about what it truly means to hold on to the people you love. It marks DreamWorks Animation's first wholly original franchise since The Wild Robot and the studio's 50th animated feature film.
