Community guidelines
Story Inc. is a place where filmmakers and movie fans come together to discuss the projects and markets that matter to them. These guidelines exist to keep that community worth being part of.
Be Substantive
Share your genuine perspective. Whether you’re predicting a box office outcome or reacting to a casting announcement, the best contributions give others something to think about. One-word posts and low-effort content don’t serve the community — and may be removed by our moderation team.
Stay On Topic
Comments on market pages should relate to the market question. Comments on project pages should relate to the film or show. Off-topic posts may be removed.
Be Respectful
Disagree with ideas, not people. Personal attacks, harassment, and targeted abuse toward other members — including filmmakers — are not permitted and will result in removal.
No Self-Promotion or Spam
Do not use the community to advertise external products, services, or platforms. Do not post the same comment across multiple markets or projects.
No Coordinated Manipulation
Do not organize with others to artificially influence market outcomes, inflate comment likes, or game Story Cash. This includes asking others to like your comments in exchange for reciprocal likes.
Keep It Legal
Do not post content that is defamatory, infringes copyright, violates someone’s privacy, or is otherwise unlawful. Do not share personal information about other users.
No Spoilers Without Warning
If your comment references plot details about an unreleased or recently released film, begin your comment with [SPOILER] so others can choose whether to read on.
Enforcement
What Happens When Rules Are Broken
Comments that violate these guidelines may be removed without notice. Repeated violations may result in suspension of commenting privileges and Story Cash clawback on removed content. Serious violations may result in account termination.
How to Report a Violation
Use the flag icon on any comment to report it for review. Our team reviews flagged content and will take action where guidelines have been violated.
A Note on Story Inc.’s Role
Story Inc. does not endorse or verify the accuracy of any community comment or prediction. Comments reflect the views of individual members, not Story Inc.
