Elise leads the excavation, a dedicated archaeologist working alongside Dylan, a veteran team member back on a whim after five years away; Clare, the meticulous preservationist running the site's lab; and Patty, an undergraduate assistant on her very first trip outside the U.S. Overseeing them all is Neville, a British professor who loves archaeology more than anyone and fancies himself an inspiring mentor. When the team unearths a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, the adventure quickly outgrows the dig site — and the stakes become anything but academic. Equal parts adventure and comedy, Dig balances ensemble character work with a genuinely twisty conspiracy thriller underneath.
